Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £26,661 FTE per annum (Actual Salary £13,330.50 per annum)

 

As our MIS Administrator you will work across FE, HE, apprenticeships, 14-16 cohort and commercial provision, providing excellent administrative services with a strong customer focus at all times. You will be working collaboratively, and flexibly to ensure a high quality, focused service delivery. You will be responsible for ensuring that all data held on college systems in relation to students, exams, timetables, attendance and courses has integrity, credibility, is consistent, and complies with relevant guidance.

Responsibilities of our MIS Administrator:

  • Responsible for the accurate and efficient collection, updating and maintaining of student data, staff/student timetables, registers, employer data and fee data.
  • Delivers compliant services in line with internal and external audit and stakeholder needs. For example, facilitation of funding’s audits and organising external verification / EQA visits. 
  • Works to service level agreements within the department. 
  • Support student engagement, enrolment, registration and certification.  
  • Liaise with curriculum staff to support effective information flow across the business, providing advice, guidance and training to service users on all aspects of student data management/process, space management and timetabling policy, and related services as required.
  • Undertake data verification checks to ensure data integrity, consistency, credibility and the optimisation of funding.
  • Support internal and external audit activity when required, and conduct data audits as per the department schedule e.g. monitoring college registers for consistency.
  • Contribute to the development of service level agreements from an administrative perspective. 
  • Maintain an up to date and working knowledge of the technical requirements within the data and compliance department, eg. ILR specifications, learner eligibility policy, funding and audit policies, timetabling, examinations and certification. 
  • Set up and maintain electronic filing systems to support the MIS function. 
  • Respond to routine enquiries from staff and the general public with regard to the colleges funding and MIS functions. 
  • Ensure that administration of data is timely, accurate and responsive.

What we’re looking for in our MIS Administrator:

  • Qualified to Level 3 or equivalent in an appropriate subject or willing to work towards
  • English & Maths GCSE Grades A-C (9-4) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years recent experience of working in an office/administration environment
  • Experience of maintaining and processing large quantities of data, including collection and analysis
  • Knowledge of data related administration
  • Knowledge and Understanding of GDPR
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and reflective practice
  • The ability to travel between sites and work flexibly when required

Desirable:

  • Business Admin/Customer Care Qualification
  • Experience of maintaining academic records
  • Knowledge of the academic standing of national and international qualifications
  • Experience of working in an FE College or similar organisation
  • Knowledge of different funding streams
