Assurance Officer

Working Hours: 18.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary: £31,795 FTE per annum (Actual Salary £15,897.50 per annum)
As our Assurance Officer, you will be responsible for providing independent oversight to ensure the organisation is operating effectively, compliantly, and in line with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. This includes supporting adherence to frameworks set by bodies such as the Education and Skills Funding Agency and the Office for Students, ensuring that key processes—particularly around funding, data returns, and student eligibility—are accurate, well-documented, and auditable.
The post holder will be involved with planning and conducting assurance reviews across departments, testing controls, identifying risks, and reporting findings to senior leadership. You will work closely with MIS, finance, and curriculum teams to validate data quality (e.g. ILR and HE returns), monitor compliance with funding rules, and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
