Working Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £23,572 FTE per annum

Annual Leave: 31 days per annum (excluding bank holidays and up to 3 additional discretionary days over the Christmas/New Year period)

As our Junior Marketing Officer, you will support marketing campaigns, campaign reporting and evaluation, content creation, events, photography and filming, and the development of visual concepts for a range of channels. The postholder will also undertake key administrative responsibilities, including raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, tracking day-to-day marketing spend, supporting budget monitoring processes, contributing to weekly newsletters and supporting staff marketing inductions.

The post holder will play a lead role in the development and ongoing coordination of a new online merchandise shop, supporting product development, supplier communication, stock coordination, promotion and day to day administration. They will also be responsible for supporting the development and promotion of Hull College’s venue hire offer. This will include helping to shape the offer, developing promotional materials, responding to initial enquiries, liaising with internal teams and external customers, supporting venue visits and bookings, and helping to coordinate the marketing and administration of venue hire activity.

Responsibilities of our Junior Marketing Officer:

  • Work alongside the Marketing team and graphic design team to provide video, photography and creative content for the production of high-quality marketing materials and media coverage.
  • Liaise with the Marketing Officers to support the delivery, reporting and evaluation of marketing campaigns, helping to identify opportunities to improve campaign performance.
  • Assist in the day to day operation of the Marketing Service, including administrative support, coordination of activity, responding to internal requests and supporting the wider team as required.
  • Lead the development and ongoing coordination of a new online merchandise shop, including working with suppliers, supporting product selection, coordinating branding requirements, monitoring orders and supporting promotional activity.

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, internal departments and key stakeholders to support the successful delivery of marketing projects and campaigns.

  • Support College events, including open events, school liaison activities, celebration events, recruitment events and other marketing-led activities, which may include planned evening and weekend working.

  • Support the creation and distribution of weekly newsletters, including gathering content, drafting copy, sourcing imagery, formatting updates and liaising with colleagues to ensure information is accurate and timely.

  • Undertake small graphic design tasks and basic artwork amends, working within College brand guidelines and seeking support from the graphic design team where required.

  • Provide general support to the wider marketing team, helping with campaign delivery, event preparation, administrative tasks, content coordination and other duties as required.

  • Support school liaison and progression activities to promote the College as a progression option to learners.

What we’re looking for in our Junior Marketing Officer:

  • GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
  • Recent and relevant experience of working in a marketing/advertising/public relations environment
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant social media profiles (e.g. Instagram and Snapchat)
  • Proven creative and good communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative with strong organisational skills
