About the Role

To carry out assessments for potential exam arrangements, complete necessary paperwork in line with JCQ regulations and coordinate access arragements across all departments. To carry out screening and visual stress assessments and make reccomendations for support strategies.

Make a Real Impact

As Educational Assessment Coordinator, you will work closely with curriculum leaders, teachers and senior leaders to drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment. You will support, challenge and coach staff, ensuring high expectations are embedded and that quality processes deliver meaningful impact for learners.

You will:

• Carry out national standardised tests for reading accuracy, reading comprehension, reading speed and spelling; writing skills, including writing speed; speed of processing and short-term memory.
• Carry out tests for visual stress and guide students regarding the use of appropriate assistive technology.
• Coordinate exam access arrangements across all college campuses and sites including work-based provision.
• Take a lead role in coordinating the processes in place for EAA, gathering tutor evidence and attending Learner Identification of Need (LION) meetings.
• Coordinate the EAA process and work closely with any external EAA assessors, Learning Assistants and tutors to ensure that all quality measures are fully adhered to and necessary arrangements are put in place.
• Work closely with the examinations department, MIS and the Senior Administrator for Learner Services to ensure that deadlines are met and to meet the requirements for human support (e.g. reader/Scribe/Prompt) across all exams and timed assessments.
• Gather information during enrolment from students, parents, schools, and any external agencies in relation to applicants’ EAA needs.
• Promote the use of assistive technology and advise and guide staff and students in its use. Identify Access Arrangements which might assist candidates in examinations and assessments in line with the Equality Act 2010.

About You

You will be an experienced and credible education professional with:

• To have completed post-graduate training to Level 7 and be able to carry out specialist psychometric testing and interpret the results
• Hold an appropriate qualification to teach and make recommendations for post-16 learners with learning difficulties and/or SpLD.
• Have a thorough understanding of the statutory requirements for eligibility for access arrangements as laid down in the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ): Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustments.
